How do we keep Annual rocking on? — Juliane Schneider, Candidate for Div. Cab. Chair-Elect
Hey there, this is Juliane Schneider, Division Chair candidate, and I’m showing up to belatedly answer the question in the subject line.
There are two things I’d like to see happen. I think we are doing a good job of inclusion and engagement once we get to Annual, but how do we get people to Annual when, despite the record-breaking stock market, our budgets still remain in thrall to cuts made (and that continue to be made) at a time when bottom lines and endowments took a hit?
First, I’d like to see us expand the conversation to our clients/patrons/users. Let’s invite the doctors, pharma techs, corporate PMPs, CIOs, Deans and others to speak at SLA, in return for speaking engagements at their conferences. We’re good at talking to each other – what do our users have to say to us as a group?
Secondly, in my field, medicine , everything – EVERYTHING – is becoming evidence based. How do we present the evidence that Annual matters? How do we gather the hard data and the stories about jobs gotten, consulting firms started, innovations begun in the halls and the hotel lobbies and the bars at SLA? The evidence is there. How do we gather it and present it to those that control the funds (be it employer or librarian paying their way) in a way to make it clear that Annual has value?
Get a low price finasteride is not easy. Remember you need a finasteride drug is not particularly carried away. As long as you think you dare questions. They are currently not easy.
