Janice Lachance to Step Down as SLA CEO

After 11 years of leading the staff of the Special Libraries Association (SLA), Janice R. Lachance will be stepping down as the association’s chief executive officer at the conclusion of her contract at year end. SLA Deputy Chief Executive Officer Doug Newcomb and SLA Chief Financial Officer Linda Broussard will serve as co-acting chief executive officers.

“Janice has headed SLA during a period of dynamic change within the information profession,” said SLA President Kate Arnold. “On behalf of the Board, I thank her for her years of service to SLA.”

Lachance is receiving the title of CEO Emeritus and will continue to provide special advice and counsel to SLA as it transitions to new leadership and beyond.
