LexisNexis and Dow Jones Major Conference Partners

LexisNexis® and Dow Jones, will serve as Major Conference Partners for the 2007 SLA Conference and Exposition.

“The commitment to these ongoing partnerships with SLA reflects the dedication our sponsors have to advancing the information profession and the work of our members,” said SLA Chief Executive Officer Janice R. Lachance. “LexisNexis and Dow Jones have participated in our annual conference as major partners year after year, and I want to thank them for their continued support.”

The Major Conference Partners have pledged support for a variety of specific events, meetings, services, at the conference.

LexisNexis continues to be a strong supporter of SLA and the information professional community.

“LexisNexis worked with SLA to line up an impressive series of educational events and awards this year, including the opening general session, which features a keynote address from former U.S. Vice President Al Gore on Sunday evening. This is one conference that you don’t want to miss,” said Clemens Ceipek, senior vice president of U.S. Corporate Markets for LexisNexis. 

LexisNexis is supporting numerous programs, including SLA Salutes!, a reception honoring SLA award recipients and association leadership; SLA’s Innovations in Technology Award; the Hot Topic Session on 4 June, “Everybody FUMSI! (Find, Use, Manage and Share Information);” and the SLA Board of Directors meetings, along with various SLA chapter and division board meetings.

Dow Jones’ strong involvement and commitment to SLA continues this year with its sponsorship of the closing general session, featuring Scott Adams, creator of the comic strip Dilbert. Dow Jones also develops the content and provides speakers for the sellout seminars of the SLA TechZone as well as the SLA Division Cabinet meeting. Their support of the Dow Jones Leadership Award since its inception has highlighted information professionals’ commitment to developing competencies for career growth.
