Submit Poster Session Proposals by Feb. 6

One of the must-attend events at SLA Annual Conferences is the opening reception in the EXPO-EXPO Hall, where conference attendees can make new friends and reconnect with old ones, visit with industry partners, and enjoy a glass of wine. At the SLA 2015 Annual Conference in Boston, the reception will be its usual relaxing and informal self, but it will also be educational, thanks to four SLA divisions.

The Museums, Arts & Humanities Division, the Academic Division, the Education Division, and the Social Science Division are once again sponsoring a joint poster session, this one to be held during the INFO-EXPO opening reception on Sunday, June 14, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Displaying the posters in the INFO-EXPO area during the reception will provide poster presenters with increased exposure to conference attendees in a casual environment.

The four divisions encourage all SLA members (especially student members) to submit poster proposals. The posters should reflect the conference theme, “Be Revolutionary!” A prize will be awarded for the best poster, as judged by conference attendees.

Poster proposals must be submitted by Friday, February 6, to Joy Banks (joymbanks@gmail.com). Proposals must include a title, a description of no more than 250 words, and the presenter’s name, institution, e-mail address, and mailing address. A committee will review the proposals for quality and relevance to the theme and will notify applicants of their decisions by Friday, February 13.

Questions about the joint poster session can be directed to any of the members of the 2015 poster session committee: Joy Banks (Museum, Arts & Humanities Division), Jacquie Keleher (Academic Division), Karen Croneis (Education Division), and Gina Gajewski (Social Science Division).
